Each one of us has his own idea of “the Caribbean ”. Yet it is such a diverse place that saying the Caribbean is similar to saying Europe or America .

But one accurate perception that we all have of the Caribbean is that of sunny islands, tropical palm trees, powder white sandy unspoilt beaches and a laid back lifestyle in luxurious tropical settings.

In reality all of the above are true. However the Caribbean is also very heterogeneous with countries as diverse as the indigenous and colonial peoples that made them what they are.
